What’s new about SCOMET Items

 

1. The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers) has decided to bring the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) Act, 2005 into force from 1st July, 2005. A copy of the Act and the accompanying Rules shall be available on the website of the Department at http://chemicals.nic.in/chem4.htm
 
2. The Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Act, 2005 has been notified in the official gazette on 7th June, 2005. A copy of this Act (in pdf format) is available at http://meaindia.nic.in/dahome.htm
 
3. DGFT has issued a Policy Circular No.11 on 27th June, 2005 for assignment of 8-digit ITC (HS) Codes to the Schedule 2 and Schedule 3 Chemicals. The Circular is available on the DGFT website. Or, please click here for viewing
 
4. DGFT has issued a Public Notice (PN) amending the Appendix 36 slightly, in connection with the End-User Certificate for export of Schedule 3 Chemicals. The PN is available on the DGFT website. Or, please click here for viewing

7. DGFT has issued  Public Notice No 36 dated 2nd August 2005  amending Part IV of the Aayat Niryat Form regarding declarations/ undertakings to be given by the exporter . Para 5A has hitherto been added.  The PN is available on the DGFT website. Or, please click here for viewing

9. DGFT has issued Notification No.44 dated 10.2.2006, bringing into effect the restrictions on export of items at Category 0 from 18.1.2006 . Also 2 new entries in Category O have been incorporated.(please click here for viewing)
10. DGFT has issued Policy Circular No.10 dated 20.6.2006 advising all Importers and Exporters of Scheduled Chemical of CWC to give the correct description of the Chemicals as well as the 8 digit HS (Codes) in their Shipping documents correctly and also forward a copy of Shipping documents to CHEMEXCIL, Mumbai within 15 days.(please click here for viewing)
